AHHHH! Getting Ahead Again, At Last!

I’m finally making some progress.  At Level 70, I now have more than 500,000 Battle Points.  I know that Experience Points are necessary to reach the next level, and those are coming along — I should reach Level 71 in a short while.   (It might be nice if there were new ships to spend my BP on, but… oh well!)

Training is important, too, and I have been experimenting with concentrating training in different areas, based on what I have noticed other Commanders doing (it is worthwhile to look at the other commanders’ stats when you fighting Skirmishes and Battles)

I have found that the old saying “Choose your battles”  is very true here.  While backing away from a Skirmish brings a penalty, you can loook for another Battle for as long as it takes you to find a Commander with fewer Attack and Defence Points than yours and a weaker Fleet (i.e., a ship line-up which your Fleet will be more likely  able to defeat).  I also look at the number of Battles Won when I am choosing a Battle (what is that Commander doing that makes that percentage so high?)

These are my current stats.  I am working on improving the Tactical, Cunning, and Courage levels.

NEW LEVEL, MORE BATTLE POINTS, FEWER DAMAGES, OH MY!

I’ve reached Level 68, and I finally have more than 400,000 Battle Points (I was beginning to despair that I would never reach 300,000 BP.)  I actually went to the Shipyard to see if there was a new ship to buy, and that was why they had let me get more points.

Apparently, my new strategy is working.  You lose points if you bow out of a Skirmish, but, if you ask for another opponent in a Battle, there is no penalty.  I have gone through as many as four tries for a new opponent in Battle.

Right now, I am victorious and happy.

NEW EXPERIENCE (BAD): NEW ATTITUDE

There I was, at Level 66, thinking I was  doing great, and no one could touch me.  Bad attitude!
Brashly, I went to Battle with some guy who had 100 more battle points than I do, but not as good a fleet.  Boo!  The other guy won and damaged 3 of my ships.  Double boo!

Back to my plan of only doing battle with way weaker commanders.

CAN’T AFFORD TO DO BATTLE!

I am at Level 59 now, with a full fleet of Dreadnaughts, and I can win Skirmishes and Battles, but I cannot afford to repair three to four ships and/or replace lost ships every time.  Repairing one ship costs more than the points I won in my Skirmishes and Battle.  This is no fun.

I am now experimenting with several tactics — I am not repairing all of the Damaged ships  every time, and I am not automatically replacing Lost ships.  Furthermore, I am skipping Battles here and there.

One change I do like is the button to ADD ALL ships.  It sure does save time.

FLEET COMMAND: Oh Puh-Lease — this is getting ridiculous!

Excuse me, but….. I am LEVEL 58.  I have a full fleet of Dreadnaught Battleships.  I do Battle  against a fleet of a combination of Light Battleships and Heavy Battleships, and a Commander who is Level 54 and I lose three ships?  What is up with that?  I am not amused, nor am I entertained.

It seems that now, the object of the game is to avoid losing points by NOT PLAYING.   I am getting tired of this.  There are no new ships to buy, and even if I have the best fleet against my opponent, I lose battle points.  Where is the fun in that?   Since I reached Level 50, I have not been able to have more than 300,000 BP, because I am always having to either repair ships or buy new ships to replace sunk ones.  The only way to avoid losing BP is to refuse to do battle!  That is not fair!

I am getting tired of this game. I am not entertained with the unfairness.

Yes, I could stop doing battle, and stop training my Captain in anything except attack, but where is the interest in that?
